The Traveling Beautifier ~ Basil

Most of us would agree that skin care is not just for the fickle minded but is a discipline worthy of discussion…

a band of aromatherapy bottles is traveling the globe with this in mind.
And, from time to time we’ll invite you to come along with The Traveling Beautifier so you too can experience the therapeutic benefits of botanical extracts, plant oils and herbs from around the world.

For our first travel, we will visit India and referred as Holy Basil. Today there are over 150 varities and widely used in Italian cuisine (my origin!).

Important note: Use all essential oils sparingly and use always with a carrier oil such as sweet almong oil. Never put essential oils directly on your skin. Basil oil has a very strong aroma.

Bath Product: We have designed a lovely bath product with basil essential oil to our original aroma blend which includes lavender and vanilla. You will truly enjoy the dry lavender in your bath.

Skin Care:It is used in skin to improve the tone of the skin.

Body Care: offers a lovely compliment with lemon, geranium and peppermint essential oils for a massage oil to revive the mind and restore the lusture dull-looking skin.

Food Recipe ~Simple Tomato Sauce
1 can of tomatoes (make sure the seeds are removed, if using diced tomatoes you will need to add tomato paste to thicken the sauce)
3 cloves of garlic, slightly chopped
2/3 fresh leaves of basil
Some tomato paste, if necessary
Sale, pepper and/or red pepper

Heat pot. Add olive oil to pot and add crushed garlic, cook for 1 minute (do not burn), add tomatoes and basil. Lower heat to a simmer. Add sale, pepper and/or red pepper. Simmer for 30 minutes.

Cook penne rigate in boiling salted water. Once al dente, remove water and put penne back to pot and add tomato sauce. Add parmigiano cheese. Serve with red wine.

Enjoy!
