I love a beautiful table.
Some do and some don't. While most men don't get the effort in all the preparation just to eat, it is our female guests who linger and enjoy the ambiance that you have so lovingly created for the evening.
If you are liking these vintage, highly-personal tablescapes settings, then do check out Eddie Ross. Here is one of his Christmas table settings from House Beautiful, 2010. The scene-stealer is the Fenton Milk Glass Compote holding another smaller Milk Glass Compote in a setting of just red and white.
I too have started a milk glass collection.
Okay, I just two milk glass pieces but I continue to look until I find a couple more to fit my small collection as well as pieces that will expand my table setting for a variety of events.
In addition, Eddie has helped to bring back in style old metals, like brass serving flatware and candle sticks. These small touches can help to create a new and different tone to your Christmas table, just with the help of your cherished family hand-me downs atop your modern table.
An easy way to get started is by selecting a colour or two from your current plates and them select your table cloth and build your tablescape from there. This one is from Proper Pillow and available on Etsy.
Super, duper and easy as pie, this lovely decorating idea is just a pie-stand, 3 candles with cranberries and greenery placed around the candles.
Please send us your tablescapes to anturalperspective(at)gmail.com and we will post them in our up-coming posts!
Happy holidays!
Lyndsy
