Hot Trend! Make it a Senior Moment.

There is a growing trend in spas to create offerings for the growing boomer population with on-staff medical professionals, such as physiotherapists, chiropractors, and osteopaths.  While some day spas may not have the space to offer these services on-site, consider creating a referral business with these services.

Discuss with these medical professionals to offer a discount to your customers.  Perhaps add a taxi service extending your customer's good feeling with your spa.

Hot Trend! Custom Essential Oil for Spa Treatment, Perfume to Take Home

In the last 10 years, there has been a revival of interest for aromatherapy. Particularly for the treatment of stress related complaints, family first aid and everyday aches and pain.

Product personalization is another hot trend that offers a lot of opportunities for retailers.

Now let's bring these two trends together and you've got the hotest ticket in today's market.  You can create unique and custom fragrances for your client's needs, for example a massage or in the room during treatment.  Custom blend using only pure essential oils is perfect for spas because fragrance is a powerful element and doesn't require any attention, just allow your guest to experience the aroma.

Imagine the seasonal inspirations and annual promotions you can create with just a few basic essential oils in your hands.

Make your customers feel special with their very own personal essential oil formula, which they can then purchase! Great for bath, fragrance for their body or even home spray depending on the blend.

Primer Essential Oils: do not use neat, must be used with a carrier oil, in a mask or lotion.  Essential oils are highly concentrated and may burn the skin if used directly on the skin.

Spa Beauty Trends

  1. Float Spa. This is filled with water that's salty enough to suspend your client. The mineral-rich salt, like that of the Dead Sea, is also said to help detoxify the skin.
  2. Add Aroma:  Since there is no natural spray for green apples or cucumber, but you can provide green apple and cucumber slices tor your customer's for a healthy snack in addition to the traditional cucumber slices for the eyes.  Their aroma are very effective smells in reducing anxiety.  Don't go the dollar store route as these are just chemical fragrances and can give your clients a headache.
  3. Bright Skin:  Introduce a yogurt and honey mask for the summer season for clients looking for a natural facial peel.  Make sure the yogurt is plain and full-fat which is richer in lactic acid.
  4. Salt Rooms:  This reminds me of my father who went to Aquasanta Terme, Italy for his health.  In the middle of the city there were people sitting around a steaming water hole in the open cave breathing in the sulfur infused air with that lovely rotten egg aroma surrounding that section of the city. Well this salt room treatment is the latest trend taking its inspiration from these locations.  I'm sure these spas don't offer the rotten egg aroma.
  5. Vigorous scrubs:  Perfect for the client who looks to sooth sore muscles and loosens limbs. Glacial Salts are a very good base to create this trendy treatment!
  6. Custom Fragrances:  This hot trend allows you to create a custom fragrance, develop a unique experience for your guest, brand your treatment and sell this experience at retail level. Read full post here.
