Beauty Pause: Junk Food

Get Ready For Spring:  Probably the worst "junk food" anyone can take is hydrogenated oil--margarine, hydrogenated peanut butter, shortening. These oils have undergone a chemical change which makes their structures unusable by the body. These oils clog up the digestive tract and bloodstream and cause many problems, including that oily skin that troubles you!

Eliminate them from your food diet and look for food products with natural oils (olive, safflower, almond, sesame--there are many choices for you to choose from, take advantage).

You'll see a real difference.

Enjoy!

Beauty Tip ~ Calendula Essential Oil

Calendula: an exceptional botanical herb known for its ability to heal skin conditions, promote tissue repair, minimize scar formation, reduce inflammation and enhance wound healing. It is an antiseptic, and improves blood flow to the affected area.

Studies have shown that the Calendula petals do have anti-inflammatory, astringent and antiseptic properties and may offer immune-stimulating action; hence it's frequent use in treating athlete's foot and diaper rash.

Our luscious and light Calendula lotion from Hodges Herbary is an excellent hand and body lotion and now for babies too!

Doing It In The Shower

It’s been recently noted that when skin is warm and moist it is the best time to moisturize. Let’s now move to the shower where our skin is most receptive to moisture intake.

Our Picks: Goat’s milk soap (full of natural vitamins, minerals, canola and other oils that are easily absorbable to the skin), Patchouli Rose Soap (a luxurious fragrance that lingers on your skin) or Boise de Rose Soap enriched with jojoba creating a rich facial soap.

Or, Glacial Marine Clay Body Scrub, which offers superior-hydrating ingredients of sweet almond oil, evening primrose and organic aloe vera with an essential oil blend designed to tone and rejuvenate the skin.
